Duygu Alkan Project “Ancient lullabies from Asia Minor”

Duygu Alkan project consist by Duygu Alkan (voice), Lucie Lelaurain (duduk, flute), Khorsid Dadbeh (tar, setar) and Jacobus Thiele (percussion).
They met at Codarts University in Rotterdam during their master & bachelor studies on music. Their passion in this music brew the idea of making this project by creating a new- modern experimental sound on Ancient lullabies from Asia minor and Mesopotamian repertoire with lots of improvisations.
Each musicians in this quartet performed in various theaters and festivals in Netherlands.
Duygu Alkan project is experimenting with the music colours of Mesopotamian tunes and lullabies from Asia minor. The repertoire presents multiple cultures and languages such as Armenian, Greek, Kurdish, Ladino and Turkish. Each of the musicians bring unique colour and touch to the sound the project have. Duygu Alkan project attempts to bring all these elements on stage by sharing the common sound of Asia minor.
