GECANCELLED Thomas Meleteas & TUSK: Shapeshifting Wizards Tour

Greek composer and oudist Thomas Meleteas and experimental duo TUSK are embarking on a spring mini-tour across the Netherlands and Belgium, performing ‘Shapeshifting Wizards’, alongside material from their previous records and interpretations of Greek traditional songs, aiming to create a musical experience deeply rooted in eastern Mediterranean tradition, yet venturing into territories of contemporary and improvisational music.

‘Shapeshifting Wizards’ is a series of new compositions from Thomas Meleteas, loosely based on shamanism and mesoamerican folklore, describing the transformation from human to animal in an abstract way, whilst musically draws inspiration from the music traditions of Greece, Turkey, and Armenia with a modern twist.
